How do our services work?.

ASD sufferers are extremely diverse, although the majority have a high level of dependence. This diversity means that our responses must be tailored to suit each individual, and our services are based on people-centred programmes which focus specially on the patients’ own needs, vision and hopes and aspirations.

This approach means that we are forced to become more flexible day by day, developing new, even more customised programmes and services that adapt to an ever-changing society and group of recipients.

As yet, there is no cure for ASD. Therefore, we believe it is vital to participate in the world-wide effort to advance biomedical research and as such, we aim to form part of the most state-of-the-art innovation networks.

We strive to remain up-to-date as regards new developments and to bring that knowledge to families in Gipuzkoa as quickly as possible. We form part of the regional, national and European fabric of ASD associations and are particularly proud to be able to contribute to the development, in other areas, of resources such as those achieved in Gipuzkoa since 1978.

The fact that ASD cannot be ‘cured’ does not mean that we do not know how to treat them. Scientific advances and society’s responses enable us to ensure a high-quality service (guaranteed in our case by the fact that we were the first European ASD initiative to gain the ISO 9001 certificate) and to maintain those we support in a community programme that reflects the inclusive society to which we aspire.
