
GAUTENA believes that it is of vital importance to work towards informing society and raising the general awareness of autism. To this end, it has recently set in motion an Annual Social Awareness Raising Campaign which constitutes a magnificent opportunity for providing the general public with information about autism, and for highlighting the importance of social acceptance for those suffering from autistic spectrum disorders.
Furthermore, and with the same objective, GAUTENA is also involved in a number of other initiatives, such as the organisation of its annual Round of Talks on Autism, held in October, which features highly prestigious speakers and focuses on themes of vital interest to our field.
Similarly, through the organisation of various other events, such as conferences and working visits, etc., GAUTENA strives to ensure that the situation and needs of autism sufferers are duly reflected in the media, in order to foster the social inclusion of these individuals.
At the end of 2004, the EITB Group adopted autism as the theme for its Telemarathon.
At the beginning of 2005, the VOCENTO Group focused on autism within its ‘ten months, ten causes’ strategy.
